Don’t be average – Be Great !
Today I want to look at the notion of living an above-average life. Of course, we should not think of ourselves as better or worse than anyone else, but we should recognize that we are unique individuals. Unique means special. It is good to think of yourself as special. No one exactly like you has ever lived before or shall pass this way again, so that’s quite a burden of responsibility that has fallen upon your shoulders.
Corny as it sounds, until you learn to love and like yourself, it is difficult for you to truly love others. As soon as you love yourself irrespective of what you look like, sound like or dress like, the sooner you’ll be open to the experiences of life in all their variety. Loving yourself is not about vanity or egotism, it is about accepting yourself as a unique, special and capable person with aspirations and ambitions, and feeling that you can achieve anything. You would regularly say to a child in your care that they could achieve whatever they put their mind to, and encourage and support their dreams and ambitions. Yet sadly we so often don’t do this for ourselves.
Why settle for average when you have greatness within you ?
Your life starts as a blank canvas. If you make a lot of brush strokes it becomes a very full canvas. It may be pretty, it may be an abstract; it doesn’t matter what it is, the key is that you made the effort to make it real and make it happen.
You are the master designer of your life !
Make everything you do today and for the rest of your life above average when you can, and progress confidently towards the success you seek !
